I AM a season ticket holder at Bolton, and was at the game on Saturday and much to my disappointment witnessed the trouble that occured outside the ground behind Tesco.
There were a group of about five Everton fans swearing at the Bolton fan walking past and when one young man looked at them the Everton fan just swung a punch at him, completely unprovoked and this happened right behind the mounted police.
As with many fans I share the same view that they should never have been able to purchase tickets in the first place. If they do get hold of them when the equalising goal went in and they all jumped up to celebrate, surely the cameras that are all over the ground watching for any trouble should be able to pinpoint these people and then the stewards and police should throw them out.
On Saturday a lot of Everton fans jumped up right in front of the stewards and police and I think only about four or five people were thrown out.
At the end of the day you know if you buy a ticket for the wrong end and are identified you are running the risk of being thrown out, we all know the rules !
The main interest of the stewards and police at the Reebok should be the safety of the fans and to ensure the home fans feel safe and comfortable in their own end, and that away fans should not be allowed to intimidate in the way they did on Saturday.
