LOOKING at fans comments re segregation it is obvious that the Everton game brought things to a head.
I live down in Kent now so was not at the Liverpool game but I imagine there were a lot of away fans scattered around the ground.
Let us put it into perspective though compared to the days of old Football is very safe.
However, there are some things that could and should be done :
1. For potential problem games give all the South Stand to away supporters. It won't solve the problem but it will at least put most of the away fans in one place. If there are others scattered around the ground in very small groups (2,3,4 etc ) they are unlikely to cause a problem.
2. Without announcing (very important or it defeats the point) it in advance hand out a voucher at an earlier home game that enables the holder to buy say two tickets for a big game. For example: At the Fulham game on 24/11 hand out a voucher for the Leeds home game on 26/12. A similar thing could be done against Charlton for the big risk game against Man Utd.
3. Also could give preference to selling tickets to Season Ticket holders/Lifeline members etc before they go on open sale. Most occasional fans are likely to know a season ticket holder and so again more tickets would end up in the hands of genuine Bolton fans.
4. Consider selling small groups of tickets together . For example: You can only buy a ticket for the Leeds game if you also buy one for say the Leicester game.
