A BOLTON woman was killed when her car careered out of control on a sliproad leading to the M61 near Kearsley.
Rehana Naseem, aged 30, of Edgemont Avenue, Daubhill, was pronounced dead at the Royal Bolton Hospital after the accident, which happened at 11.45pm last night. A male passenger, Shahid Sadiq, aged 28, of Sunning Hill Street, also Bolton, suffered minor cuts and a seven-year-old boy in the back seat sustained a broken leg.
Mr Sadiq was released from hospital earlier today but the child was still receiving treatment this afternoon.
A police spokesman said Mrs Naseem was driving a S-reg Vauxhall Vectra on the the M60 at junction 15, the link road to the northbound M61.
The vehicle then left the carriageway on the offside of the link road.
Firefighters from Whitefield and Salford were called to the scene and used cutting gear to release the occupants who were trapped in the wreckage. They were given oxygen treatment before being taken to hospital.
It is not known if any other vehicles were involved, but it is believed the crash took place during heavy rainfall.
