A DRIVING instructor is making sure image-conscious teenagers get noticed behind the wheel.
Tony Pearson decided his clients would like to make heads turn.
So when it came to trading in his old driving school Rover 200 he opted for a sporty looking MG ZR 105 -- in bright yellow!
Tony even had leather seats and a sporty looking trim put on the vehicle, believed to be the only MG ZR in the country being used by a driving school.
And he had his driving school sign specially painted to match the yellow paintwork.
The car has caused much comment in the three weeks it has been on the roads in Farnworth.
"Even the driving examiners are going past putting their sunglasses on," joked Tony.
But despite its go faster looks he has ensured the car is safe for his students by choosing the 1.4 litre model and having dual controls fitted on the £11,300 vehicle.
In the 10 years he has worked as a driving instructor Tony has always chosen normal small saloon cars to use.
He claimed:"I noticed when I have been taking the young ones out they have always noticed the cars," he said.
"It is a marketing too really. There are so many driving instructors in Bolton you have got to be one step ahead."
The move seems to have paid off as Tony's diary is fully booked for the next three weeks. However it is causing some problems.
He said: "I have had young lads pull up beside me, get out and have a look round while we are trying to do a manoeuvre.
"I have wondered once or twice if I have done the right thing because it has caused so much of a stir.
