LITTLE Hulton building contractor G & J Seddon Ltd is involved in building a new leisure centre at Crosby. The £7 million project is being carried out under the Government's Private Finance Initiative scheme.
The client for the facility is Waterfront Leisure (Crosby) Ltd -- a special purpose vehicle made up of G & J Seddon Ltd and Parkwood PFI Projects Ltd. Parkwood's sister company Glendale will operate the pool on behalf of Waterfront Leisure (Crosby) Ltd in association with Sefton Borough Council. The leisure centre is on a prominent site facing the Mersey estuary at the entrance to Liverpool Bay and is due to be completed in early spring, 2003. Facilities which are expected to attract 300,000 visitors a year include swimming pools, a four-court sports hall, a fitness suite, two squash courts, a cafe/bar, a dance studio and a creche.
