AS an Everton fan who attended the match on Saturday and reading your articles on the website I feel compelled to reply.

First of all, Bolton fans have to realise that the reason why Everton fans were all over the Reebok on Saturday was supply and demand - Bolton only supplied 3,000 tickets to Everton and the demand was well over double that.

As Everton sell their allocation for each away game this issue always occur but the problem here was that Bolton did not have the demand from their own supporters to fill home seats and in doing so sold them to Everton fans.

I personally know countless Everton fans who rang up the Bolton ticket line to obtain tickets in the home end and were given them easily - in fact they asked for their home address!!

Also selling tickets on the day wasn't too bright as a load of lads went down without tickets.

On to the match and why should you eject hundreds (if not a couple of thousand) supporters from a ground after they have paid good money in good faith to Bolton FC to watch their team. In fact there were empty seats across the ground as it wasn't even a sell out - the logical answer is that when teams with a large away support come to Bolton give them the whole of the South Stand.

In particular teams like Everton who will bring a large following for a match which may not be as appetising a fixture for Bolton fans to go to.

After paying 20 pound to Bolton FC my 58-year-old uncle was ejected from the East Stand for cheering the Everton equaliser - why???

And when people talk about insults thrown just listen to the 'youths' in the East Stand Lower who berate the away fans all game - people in glass houses!!

Something else which added to the edge on Saturday was that no pubs let any away fans in before/after the game therefore highlighting the problem between the two sets of fans.

The stadium has moved on to the 21st century but some of the stewarding, policing, licensing arrangements, fans and even attitudes are still back in the dark days of the 1980s.

I hope it changes and that the Scousephobia which existed on Saturday and still seems to exist in some of the articles I have read disappears.
