NEW figures show that crime in the Greater Manchester area which includes Bolton has risen by 3.7 per cent.
The region's police authority was due to hear today the figures for the last six months up to September.
Only one fifth of all crimes during that period were detected.
The figures show that 187,625 crimes were committed including 26,568 violent offences.
Murders, sex offences and serious woundings were all up on last year, while there were less robberies, burglaries and firearms incidents than the same period last year.
