A FAMILY is so mad about Harry Potter their newest arrival was named after the fictional hero.

Jill Broughton, aged 31, became a fan of JK Rowling's pint-sized wizard creation thanks to her 12-year-old niece Hannah Maycraft who is also crazy about the novels.

Jill's father, George Maycraft, aged 77, was the next Harry Potter recruit and his enthusiasm for the multi-million selling series of books led to the whole family becoming firm fans of the apprentice wizard.

The latest addition to the family, Jill's 19-month-old son was named Harry George as a tribute to the character.

And his older brother, four-year-old Jack Liam, is following the family tradition. He is intending to watch the film at a special screening this weekend dressed as the bespectacled hero.

Jill and her husband David, aged 39, of Tottington Fold, Harwood, chose Harry's name months before he was born after Jill was bitten by the Potter bug.

She said: "I think the books are enchanting and I've found them a very relaxing read.

"I know they're children's books, but I'm not surprised that adults love them as well. I think everyone should read one of the books whatever their age."

Jill is looking forward to attending a special preview screening of Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone tomorrow at the UGC cinema in Astley Bridge with her father and Jack Liam, who is a pupil at Harwood's St Maxentius Primary School.

She added: "I think it will be a real family outing and I'm really excited about going.

"Jack Liam is too young to read the books, but I read them to him and he knows who Harry Potter is.

"As soon as the preview tickets went on sale we had to buy them ... but I think I'm actually more excited about going than my son is!"
