SCHOOL pupils across the country would love to settle down for a music lesson with Bury singing sensation Suzanne Shaw.
The Hear'Say star has ranked top in a national poll which asked pupils who they would most like to see take a celebrity lesson at their school.
Computer giants Microsoft asked nine to 16-year-olds throughout the UK for their choice of an ideal tutor for the day.
Microsoft completed the survey to promote its brand-leading computer encyclopedia Encarta.
Research suggests celebrities such as the "Pure and Simple" Miss Shaw could be the key to inspiring youngsters to greater academic success.
Two thirds of those asked said a celebrity talking about their own success and experiences would add an extra dimension to lessons.
While a quarter of youngsters said they would feel more inspired to prove themselves by taking a celebrity as a symbol of success. Suzanne, aged 19, a former pupil oft St Gabriel's School, Bury, is the nation's choice for a celebrity music teacher for the day and she knocks some of the music biz's biggest names sideways.
She received nearly half the votes in the survey -- twice as many as Posh Spice and Irish songstress Samantha Mumba.
And she leaves 'serious' musician and big-beat supremo Fatboy Slim for dead by getting four times as many votes.
Other celebrities who register as firm favourites in the classroom are omni-present Harry Potter author JK Rowling who children would want as their ideal English teacher.
England skipper David Beckham would be virtually everyone's favourite PE teacher, Countdown's Carol Vorderman is the nation's choice for an ideal maths teacher and pupils would prefer a home economics lesson with Naked Chef Jamie Oliver.
