PEOPLE are being given the opportunity to experience driving blind.
The challenge will involve 120 visually impaired guide dog owners and their blindfolded guests driving four, two and one wheel vehicles around a specially designed course.
The British School of Motoring has provided dual control cars for the event, which takes place on Sunday November 25 at Bolton's Reebok Stadium.
Drivers will have to steer the vehicles around obstacles including cones, bends and gateways. When they have mastered four wheels, they will be invited to ride a Harley Davidson motorbike, followed by a one wheel human Gyroscope -- designed by NASA.
Each participant is encouraged to raise a minimum of £50 for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
Guide Dogs' community fund-raising manager Peter Emmett explained: "For visually impaired people, this really is a unique opportunity to savour the thrill and sensation of driving. And for their blindfolded partners, a chance to experience how difficult everyday tasks become without the benefit of sight."
Anyone wanting to attend the event should contact Peter on 01204 492534.
