BOLTON Under 15s manager Jason Nash must be wondering where the town team's first win will come from.

The Under 15s have lost all five games played so far this season and they are anchored at the foot of the Greater Manchester Schools' League table.

They began their league programme with a 6-1 defeat against Manchester and they then slumped to a 9-1 reverse against Salford.

They crashed out of the English schools' Wizards Trophy with a 5-3 defeat against Trafford and they then went down 6-2 to Tameside and 5-1 to Oldham in their last league match a fortnight ago.

Bolton Under 14s are also without a win after their opening six games.

But team manager Ivor Altdorf was well pleased with his youngsters after last week's 4-2 reverse against Salford in the Greater Manchester Schools' League.

His team's performance brought praise from Salford boss John Peters, who said: "The Bolton lads were very competitive and played really well throughout the game. It was only in the last few minutes that we won the game."

Bolton showed great character in coming back from behind twice with goals either side of the break from debutant Alex Mort (Smithills) and Joe Whittaker (Mount St. Joseph's).

Bolton midfielder Keir McNeil (Turton) had to be taken off following a foul from a Salford player which earned him a sending off but Salford coped well with 10 men and clinched victory with late goals from Mike Walker and Liam Page.

Bolton boss Altdorf said after the game: "I thought our lads did really well particularly Mort who had a marvellous game on his debut."
