I DARE say that I am not alone in saying that my attitude has been changed by the terrible slaughter of civilians carried out by terrorists on September 11, and the subsequent reported events since that date.

The recent protests against the reprisals carried out by the United States on the Taliban-held territories beggars belief.

Some of the Muslims taking part sought, and were given, sanctuary in our country. Not only were they given sympathetic treatment, they have been financed, educated, housed, used our medical services, received police protection, and many other social benefits. What they are doing now does not come under my definition of "gratitude".

I have never objected to people from oppressive countries being allowed to enter Britain, but I strongly object to them forming with others, organisations, in attempting to undermine the policies of our elected Government in the battle against terrorism.

The argument that such events should be dealt with through diplomatic channels and reasoning is wrong, because pussyfoot action will not encourage guilty men to surrender, history has proven this time and time again.
