HANSON 2 Little Lever 5
FOR the first 14 minutes, Hanson, playing with only 10 players, managed to hold off Little Lever, though, early on, Zoe Bluer gave them a fright when a good reverse side shot nearly got through.
Within a minute of being at full strength, Hanson found themselves a goal behind when Julie Bluer proved too strong for the defence. Hanson fought back, and, seven minutes later, they equalised with a delightful goal from Hayley Dunn.
Shortly after, Zoe Bluer restored Little Lever's lead, and Julie Bluer completed the first half scoring when she ran round the goalkeeper and tapped in.
Julie Bluer completed her hat-trick after five minutes of the second half, and added a fourth following a well-worked move involving three players.
Hanson tried to emulate Little Lever with a move of their own involving three players, but the resulting shot went wide. Ann Truffus reduced the deficit with a good, clean strike which gave the goalkeeper no chance.
POM -- April Hampson (Little Lever), Hayley Dunn (Hanson).
HINDLEY 9 NOMADS 0
There is usually an edge to games between these two clubs, for Hindley still remember that it was Nomads that doomed them to relegation a few seasons ago.
There was to be no repeat for them this time, Nomads were totally overwhelmed.
Without a regular goalkeeper, Hindley changed goalkeepers at half time. Seven of the Hindley side scored, including both goalkeepers.
Nomads rarely got the ball into their opponents' circle, but they did get in a few shots at goal. The outstanding player of the match was Yvonne Young whose work rate was enormous.
POM -- Yvonne Young (HIndley), Christine Jones (Nomads).
