I WAS delighted to see recognition for the Bolton nurse who received the award for her work on the eye unit at the Royal Bolton Hospital.
It is time this hospital was given some praise for the exceptional work carried out there.
I am speaking from experience, having just been a patient there. I could not have had better treatment in any private hospital.
The staff on the eye unit are so dedicated, professional and caring. I was feeling rather nervous, but, on entering the ward, I was greeted with a friendly, smiling nurse who put me at ease, and every member of staff made me feel they were there for me personally.
I have to go back soon for an operation on my other eye. But I feel quite confident that I can put my trust in these very special people who deserve all the praise and thanks from me and, I am sure, many more patients lucky enough to be treated at the Royal Bolton Hospital.
