FIREFIGHTERS believe an electrical fault sparked a spectacular blaze in Golborne last night.

Two houses, two garden sheds, a play house, fencing, several trees and a car port were damaged in the fire in Ringley Avenue at around 6.30pm.

A fire service spokesman said: "It was probably caused by an electrical fault which led to quite a spectacular blaze."

He added it was thought the fire started in a tumble dryer in one of the sheds.

The sheds were destroyed and some of the windows and the roofs of the two houses were damaged.
