The Volunteer still have only two points to their credit, but came within a few runs of taking a point off Imago, going down by just seven.
Section 'B' leaders Tonge Fold XI had a comfortable victory over Bolton Motor Bodies and remain unbeaten. Mytham Ladies stay second after their 10-run win over A.S.A.P.

Westhoughton & District have a make or break match next Sunday when they face league leaders Morris Roofing. Victory would put them level at the top, but defeat would open up a four point gap.
Farmers XI outclassed Cheetham Ladies, scoring 74 and 76 compared with 46 and 47. The 30-run handicap actually put Cheetham two runs ahead at the break, but the result was never in doubt.
