BOLTON School will be adopting an open door policy when it hosts a special day designed at giving prospective pupils and their parents a taste of school life.
The Boys' Division of the Chorley New Road school, will be laying on a full day of information and fun on Saturday November 17 to show what they have to offer and explain the admissions system.
Headteacher Alan Wright said one key element of the day will be to explain how parents can receive help with funding for a place at the school which was recently ranked the seventh best independent school in the North west.
Mr Wright said: "The season of admissions is coming round again with the thoughts of parents of children moving to secondary school next autumn occupied with the placement of their child in new schools for the crucial 11 to 16-plus years.
"Many 16-year-olds will also be considering whether to tackle A-level Sixth Form studies.
"Our annual Open Morning helps explain how to gain entry to the school and the school's Foundation Grants which are being offered by the governors of to give fee assistance to families of children attending the school."
"I am concerned that many parents are not aware of the availability of these grants and think they simply cannot send their to an independent school. Yet a significant number of boys entering here at 11-years-old could benefit on this scheme, with up to full fee admission being offered."
Assistance is also available for boys entering at 16 into the Sixth Form.
The Open Morning begins at 9.30am on Saturday November 28.
