I CAN go most of the way with Malcolm Pittock (BEN Letters, November 13), particularly in respect of the bombing of Afghanistan with such tragic results.

It should, however, be remembered that the events of September 11 were a deliberate attempt to kill innocent civilians and therefore constitutes an act of terrorism, in which more than 300 British lives were lost.

I wonder what Mr Pittock would say to the families of those who lost their loved ones.

Is it, in all honesty, sufficient to say -- "well, it really has nothing to do with us"?
