IT was the turn of the teenagers and adults this week in the latest round of the Pines Citizen Talent Contest.
Dancers and singers tapped the boards in their bid to win a chance to sing alongside local soul star Stephen Bayliss in a special evening of cabaret at The Pines Hotel, Clayton-le-Woods, as well as the substantial prize money on offer.
In the under-19 age group, it was a disco dancing duet who bopped their way to the winning spot with a superb routine performed to Vanessa Amorousi's Absolutely Everybody.
Sarah Ashworth, 14, from Clayton-le-Woods, and Natalie Pilkington, 13, from Adlington, have been dancing since they were four, regularly appear in pantomime together and hope to go to stage school.
Sarah said: "We thought we had a bit of a chance, but when they didn't call our name out for third or second place we thought we didn't have a chance."
They clearly impressed the judges, Stephen Bayliss said: "For dancers to win in a contest like this they really have got to be something special."
In the evening when the adults took to the stage, it was velvet-voiced Laura Dee , aged 19, from Coppull, who won the judges over with her heartfelt rendition of Perfect Year by Dina Carol.
The competition was organised by Stylus World which gave their services for free. Among the judges was Citizen sales executive Carol Mabberley, who was struck by the high standard of entrants. She said: "There was so much talent, it was unbelievable, it is amazing how much talent there is in this area."
