A MOTORIST who allegedly drove off after knocking down and fatally injuring Little Hulton teenager Lynsey Thornton was refused bail by magistrates in Manchester. Richard Davies, aged 24, of Hulme, was accused of causing the death of 19-year-old Miss Thornton by dangerous driving on Saturday.
Miss Thornton, of Coniston Avenue, Little Hulton, suffered head injuries after being struck at traffic lights while crossing Stretford Road.
Mr Davies, who will deny causing her death, faces further charge of failing to stop and report an accident, driving while banned, and no insurance.
He was sent to the Crown Court in custody for plea on November 23.
