A MAN accused of head-butting and biting a pub landlord during a brawl over after time drinking has been cleared by a jury.
Clint Glaister went to the bar of The Lever Arms, Darcy Lever, but landlord Joaquin Zarro refused to serve him saying it was after closing time.
Glaister then returned and started drinking from a customer's bottle on the bar.
Zarro alleged that when he went to the other side of the bar Glaister became aggressive and head-butted him in the face.
During the ensuing brawl Zarro also claimed Glaister bit him on his ear and then on the side of his body. Other customers in the pub eventually managed to separate the two men.
Glaister, aged 21, of Hollycroft Avenue, Breightmet, appeared at Bolton Crown Court. He denied assaulting Zarro occasioning actual bodily harm.
Zarro denied he had been aggressive towards Glaister and that he was normally quick-tempered.
He also denied grabbing Glaister's top or followed him and poking him the back.
