AN inquest has been opened into the death of a member of a Radcliffe scrap metal merchant family who was admitted to hospital after it was believed she had taken various drugs prescribed for herself and her husband.
Bury District Coroner Barrie Williams opened the hearing into the death of mother-of-three Alison Jayne Warrington, aged 29, of Cross Street, Radcliffe, who died after admission to hospital on November 9.
Mrs Warrington had a history of depression and was said to have made previous attempts to harm herself. She was on long-term sickness benefit and had received psychiatric treatment.
Coroner's officer Geoff Cave said Mrs Warrington left a letter and a mobile phone message addressed to her family. Police had concluded there had been no evidence of foul play or third party involvement in her death.
After a post mortem examination, samples had been sent off for toxicological analysis. The coroner adjourned the hearing for the submission of further medical reports.
