GREAT Britain and Australia will do battle in the Rugby League Second Test at the Reebok with Sam Allardyce's blessing.
The Wanderers' boss is confident the pitch, which has been re-turfed and relaid this year after coming in for criticism after staging rugby league last season, will stand up to the Ashes test on Saturday.
"The pitch is magnificent now and the rugby brings revenue into the club," the manager said.
"I've got no worries about tomorrow. They're only looking at this one game so we won't have the problems we've had in the past.
"The weather's been kind to us as well so it's not as if it's been saturated as it has in the last couple of years. It's kept the grass growing even longer than normal. That's probably why it's held up as well as it has."
Meanwhile tickets for the second Guinness Test are available from the Reebok Stadium ticket office, open on Friday until 5pm and matchday from 9.30 until kick off (7pm). Prices are £30, £35 and £40.
Wanderers' club mascot Lofty The Lion will be cheering on the Great Britain side, who need a victory to seal the series after their emphatic win over Australia in the first of the three-match Ashes series at Huddersfield.
Lofty will wear the Lions' kit for the day to help galvanise support as Andy Farrell's side bid to complete a historic series triumph.
