A PLOT of land which is a popular temporary home for travellers is to become a new residential development.
The area of land on Ivanhoe Street in Farnworth will have 10 flats, eight bungalows and two houses built by St Vincents Housing Association.
Bolton Council planners approved the development which will deter future travellers from the area - currently neglected land.
Nearby residents fear a boundary wall will create an "accident blackspot" at the junction of Manchester Road and Ivanhoe Street, but this is to be addressed by highways officers. The main access to the homes will be from the Ivanhoe Street/Manchester Road junction.
