SMITHILLS School brass band will be featured in the final programme of the BBC Radio Four series The Role of Brass Bands In Society -- Past, Present and Future.
The documentary was recorded at the school last month.
The half-hour programme features the World, National and BBC champion senior brass band in rehearsals followed by interviews with head teacher John Lawson and two of the band's top players cornet player, Vanisha Gangiyani and flugel horn player Kay Smith, both aged 15.
The band will perform the finale from Mahler's Third Symphony and This is The Moment taken from the West End musical Jekyll and Hyde.
Mr Lawson said: "Paul is delighted with the programme and he recommends tuning in."
The programme will be broadcast on BBC Radio Four next Tuesday at 1.30pm.
