A BANNED driver who was caught behind the wheel three times has had his jail term cut by a judge.
When Carl Scott appeared before magistrates they jailed him for a total of six months, the maximum allowed.
But Scott appealed to Bolton Crown Court against his sentence claiming he had not been given credit for early guilty pleas and for co-operating with police.
Scott, aged 22, of Kirkby Road, Bolton, had been convicted of three offences of driving while disqualified, three counts of driving without insurance and two Bail Act offences.
The court heard that when he was bailed to the magistrates court he failed to attend and he was arrested on warrant.
Recorder Beverley Lunt said that the magistrates had passed the right sentence but according to Parliament credit should be shown to be given for early guilty pleas.
She reduced Scott's sentence from a total of six months to one of five months.
