BOLTON United Harriers athletes continued to dominate the Under 15 Girls, Under 17 Boys and Senior Mens sections of the league.
Tom Lancashire continued his complete domination of the Under 17 Mens' series with another convincing victory. This now means that he is the series winner with one race still to be run. In the team event he was backed up by Tim Ellis and Matthew Lang for another team victory.
In the Under 15 girls' event Kate Smith also clinched the overall series title with one race still to go.
In the Under 15 boys' race Stephen Wibberley showed again the full range of his talents, finishing third.
In the Under 13 Boys' race Louis Higginson ran strongly. His finishing position of 13th meant that he has improved in every race.
In the Senior Mens event the race winner was Bolton's Andy Parker. Andy had a superb race and led almost from the gun. He was determined to make up for earlier disappointments in series. He pushed the current race series leader into second place in this race. Nick Kay made it three wins out of three in the Junior category and continued his record of improving in every race by finishing third overall. Chris Iddon had his best run of series to date to take 2nd in the Junior race and 7th overall.
Gary Counsell held on for fourth despite stomach problems. Tony Duffy, aged 45, won the veteran race again with sixth overall, next vet home for Bolton was Mike Barnes who was second in the V60 category. Dave Shaw completed the team in 11th and the club must now have an unassailable lead going into the final race at Burnley.
TOM Lancashire competes this weekend in the Reebok Cross Series race in Eastbourne. His other outing in this event earlier in the season resulted in a race win, a feat that he hopes to repeat on Sunday.
