MICHAEL Ricketts believes Wanderers have good reason to believe they can emulate Ipswich.
The Reebok hit-man, who scored his 10th goal of the season in the 2-1 win at Portman Road, insists Premiership survival is still the number one priority.
But, as Ipswich prepare to take on Inter Milan in the UEFA Cup having finished fifth in their first season back in the top flight, the young goal star said: "We are trying to emulate what they have done."
Ricketts is making no great claims and qualifies every point he makes by stressing that it is safety first.
But he believes Wanderers have earned the right to be eighth in the table and maintains: "We are doing very well. People take it for granted but we are doing very, very well.
"Staying in the league is the utmost but you never know ... I'm not getting ahead of myself but you never know what can happen if you get a few results together."
There is always the risk that raising sights and expectations can invite pressure but Ricketts says: "I'm not doing that I'm just being realistic.
"Our aim is to stay up and anything else is a bonus. But anything can happen."
