A BUSY two days saw the Clarion, at the Velodrome for their monthly session of two hours then three sections out on Sunday.
The booking of the Velodrome for two hours exclusive Clarion use was again a successful occasion with riders of all abilities taking to the boards, some for the first time, others now quite experienced.
Due to good coaching and encouragement from others all were soon riding the awesome steep banking with confidence. A good evening with safe riding and getting to grips with the technique of handling the fixed gear track bikes pleased everyone.
Sunday's rides all went well despite dark grey skies and a slight chill. The A ride managed to clock up 85 miles in the easy going flat lanes of Cheshire, lunch being taken at Middlewich. The C ride had a nice easy run to Martin Mere with afternoon tea at Croston, while the B ride enjoyed a half day ride over Belmont to Pleasington.
On Friday the Clarion have their presentation night. Championship cups, medals, certificates and club awards, will be presented by Merlin Evans. Merlin is a Penny Farthing record holder and Stockport Clarion member.
On Sunday Clarion rides leave the town hall square at 9am. A ride, to Scorton. B ride, a half day ride to Croston. The C ride make their way also to Croston. Details from Secretary, tel. 01204 491595.
