IT was a close encounter of the Fourth Division kind when top played bottom on Monday.
The pressure was really beginning to show on the teams at the business end of the league, with top side Peel Villa already having been beaten by Manchester Wanderers.
Three Nations knew only a win would keep them in contention. Their opponents, Electrical Services, despite being one of the favourites for the drop, refused to roll over for their better placed opposition. In an exciting match, Three Nations managed to edge out the Services lads at the finishing post by the single goal 13-12 to keep up with the leaders.
KFC Allstars lost ground, and perhaps the chance of the championship when they were held to a 10-10 draw with Hertha Kitt. Despite Paul Potter's men being at the opposite end of the table to KFC they proved why many had expected more from them this season. It was a solid defensive display in what proved to be a very physical match, which saw them pick up a valuable and thoroughly deserved point that could prove vital at the end of this campaign.
Deane kept up their impressive run at the top of the Thursday Premier League when they totally outplayed FC Hangover. It was one way traffic for much of the game, with Deane scoring 18 times against an opposition who could only muster four in reply. As Good As We Look's narrow 8-6 win over Big Boys 8 means they stay in right on Deane's shoulders.
