WHATEVER the reason for Wanderers' decision to reduce admission prices for next Tuesday's Worthington Cup game against Southampton they should be commended for it.
I am of the cynical viewpoint that all football clubs' financial decisions are made with the aim of making as much money as possible although if the Wanderers public relations department were to insist the price reduction was a goodwill gesture I would be only too pleased to go along with it.
They would have a mighty fine argument too as the last 16 stage of the cup against Premiership opposition is not the sort of game you need to reduce prices to attract fans.
Either way the supporters will be the winners with £12 and £10 for adults and £6 and £5 for kids constitutes the best value in the country to see two Premiership sides and the several thousand fans it will put on the attendance will make it a better atmosphere for all.
