REGIONAL Operations Manager Andrew Sempers says the Wingates printing centre is a lot more sophisticated than the one it replaced at Lostock.
And he believes that the purpose-built operation -- close to the motorway network -- is "an ideal site to print Newsquest newspapers".
Mr Sempers, aged 49, who covers Newsquest production in Lancashire, Bradford and Kendal, has been around the industry for 11 years.
He previously worked in a senior production capacity for the Newcastle Chronicle and Journal, Portsmouth and Sunderland Newspapers and Cumbrian Newspapers.
The Wingates project has been high on his list of priorities since he joined Newquest in April.
"We are always looking for an opportunity to add other titles to this press," he said.
