THE European Court has just decided that supermarkets cannot sell designer goods, imported from non EU countries such as America, at knockdown prices.
As I understood it, the whole point of Britain being in the EU was that, by virtue of the "tariff free" single market, we could trade with other EU countries, without suffering the import and export taxes that are levied on goods imported and exported to and from non EU countries.
How then can it be possible, for shops to sell goods imported from America (a non EU country) cheaper (in many cases much cheaper) than the same items, sourced from EU countries?
