A BOY with special needs had his new bicycle stolen just days after his 11th birthday.
James Roberts. of Oaks Avenue, Bradshaw, suffers an obsessive disorder. His grandmother, Barbara Wright, said the theft will devastate him.
His mother, Denise Roberts, has not told him yet. They are hoping the thieves will return the bike -- a red, yellow, black and gold Magna with a 24-inch wheels.
The £300 bike, which the James family clubbed together to buy, was stolen from the garage along with a power wash hose.
Mrs Roberts discovered it had gone when she went to fetch a bucket from the garage and found the back window had been removed.
Mrs Wright said: "There have been two other break-ins in the street with lawn mowers being stolen.
"For all I know, there may have been several more. James suffers from aspergref syndrome and he is obsessed with his new bike. This will be terrible for him."
Police are continuing their investigations. Anyone with information about the theft, which took place some time between late Tuesday, November 13, and early November 14, should ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
