A HEROIN user took his own life in a Bolton hotel room after taking eleven times the fatal dose of the drug.
Firefighters were forced to break into the premises and discovered the body, an inquest heard.
Philip Rose, aged 30, of Rochdale, was discovered dead in his room at the Broomfield Hotel, Wigan Road, Bolton, on July 30 this year.
Mr Rose, a divorced father, had taken 11 times the fatal heroin dose which killed him, a pathologist told Bolton coroner Mrs Jennifer Leeming.
The Rochdale man, who was described as weightlifter who regularly went to the gym, had a history of violence, the inquest heard.
He was found dead just days after being deported from Spain, where he had wrecked a hotel room while on holiday.
A note was discovered by police in the sink of his hotel room describing his intent to end his own life.
Mr Rose booked into the guest house meaning to stay for one night. His body was found three days later.
Drugs, including crack cocaine and heroin, were discovered next to his bed.
Mrs Leeming recorded a verdict that Mr Rose took his own life and died from the fatal dose of heroin.
