YOUNGSTERS performing in the Children's Amateur Theatre Society (CATS) production of Godspell have won rave reviews from their audience.
The children aged 12 to 18 years were appearing at the Theatre Church, Seymour Road, Astley Bridge.
CATS is one of the town's fastest growing theatre companies, its membership growing from 10 to 40 within seven years.
The production has been directed and choreographed by Louise Cohen with 18-year-old Christian Brabin in the lead role of Jesus.
Other principal roles were played by James Eccleshare, Daniel Whitehead, Jonathan Cunliffe, Matthew Gavin, Katie Warburton, Elizabeth Oakes, Rebecca Brown, Katherine Davies and Amy Sandiford.
One enthusiastic member of the audience who attended the show said: "The children did marvellously well. They all worked so hard and were obviously very dedicated.
"Christian in the lead role gave a very good performance. But it was interesting to see that each of the teenagers had their own individual characters which shone through in their performance on the stage.
"They were all stars -- and are surely the stars of tomorrow."
