A MAN admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm when he appeared before Bury magistrates.
The court was told that what started as an argument between Paul Holland and his partner gradually became more and more violent.
After an afternoon drinking Holland and his girlfriend Sarah Harrison, returned to the home they shared in Ramsbottom.
Miss Harrison threw his clothes out of the bedroom window and slapped him.
Holland punched Miss Harrison in the head and she then fled down stairs and called the police.
Moments later Holland, who now lives on Bolton Road West, Ramsbottom, followed her and smashed the phone.
She fled back upstairs but was chased, hit and, as she fell on the bed, Holland kicked her. The beating ended when police arrived.
Holland was given a 12 month community rehabilitation order and told he must attend a domestic violence programme. In addition he was ordered to pay Miss Holland £200 compensation with £55 costs.
