DETECTIVES are following up a number of leads after posters appealing for information about the murder of teenage prostitute Carly Bateman were distributed throughout Bolton.
The banners, which feature a picture of the 17-year-old, were put up in areas that she used to frequent.
Carly was strangled and her naked body dumped in a back alley off Crawford Avenue, the Haulgh, two weeks ago.
Officers are still trying to find the clothes she was last seen wearing on Saturday, November 10, at about midnight.
Det Chief Insp Tony Cook made a fresh appeal for prostitutes who knew Carly or saw her in the hours leading up to her murder to come forward.
He said: "It is still very important that anyone who knew Carly and hasn't spoken to us comes forward.
"Some prostitutes may be worried about speaking to officers because they have outstanding warrants. I want to reassure them that these matters are not important and won't be looked at by officers.
"We need to speak to them about Carly so we can find her killer."
On the night she was last seen, Carly was wearing light coloured three-quarter length pants, a grey and blue top with Ellesse written across the front and white Reebok trainers with pink inserts.
Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 0161 856 5961.
