MAY I be allowed to assure Mr John L Evans that I did not pen the phrase "Suspected Terrorist", I simply borrowed it from a previously reported article on Sheik Abu Qatada in the BEN a couple of weeks ago.
If there was, or appeared to be, racial undertones in my letter, then be assured none were intended. Racialism is not in my make up, due in part to the knowledge that I enjoyed the privilege of having a Jamaican brother-in-law for many years from 1949, and a finer or more upstanding man I have never met before or since.
Also Mr Evans, in April, 2002, I too will have the added wealth of an extra 25p on my pension -- so if we join forces we may just afford a bag of crisps.
