THE BREAD punch was very much in evidence in when the method accounted for five out of the six pay-out places in last Sundays Bolton Anglers Association Fur and Feather match on the Bolton Canal.
But the scalesman had a difficult job in separating the first two anglers.
Gordon Shorrocks of Shorrocks Brothers Tackle Shop punched his way to the winners prize by winning by the smallest of margins when he took small roach on the pole for 4lbs-2ozs-8drs.
Match Secretary, Dave Hanson was left cursing his luck in second place after being drammed out of it by Gordon, his return of 4lbs-2ozs-7drs contained a few decent perch. Third was Keith Murphy who returned 3lbs-6ozs-0drs. Section Winners: Alan Monroe 3lbs-4ozs-0drs and Steve Hodgkiss 2lbs-8ozs-0drs.
