IN THE final reckoning of the Lancashire Winter League, Keenets Northwest showed their class by taking the last three rounds and winning the overall league which gives them a choice of venue in the final rounds.
BAS image looked set to upset the pundits after taking the first three rounds on the Lancaster Canal, but lost their way when the matches switched to the Bridgewater canal.
Both teams will qualify for the Angling Times Winter League Semi Finals and Keenets will fish on the River Weaver whilst BAS Image will head for the Stainforth and Keadby canal. Both hope to repeat past performances and qualify for the prestigious final next year.
On the day Keenets finished with just 27 points well ahead of Saints with 41 points. Ted Carter Southport were third with 55 points. Individually Arthur Hargreaves (Ted Carter Southport) took the honours with 14 - 8 - 0.
