Wanderers Youth 2, Bradford City Youth 1: WANDERERS got off to a flier at the Reebok and never looked back, booking themselves a place in the fourth round of the AXA FA Youth Cup.
Michael Eckersley put the Bolton young guns into a second minute lead, with a spectacular volley from a Ricky Shakes cross and quick-witted Lewis Hamlin doubled the advantage on 25 minutes, beating Bantams' keeper Nicky Beech with a free kick.
Bradford hit back eight minutes before half time when Liam Flynn cashed in on some poor defending to volley past Andrew Price, leaving Wanderers to withstand a lot of second half pressure as the visitors had the better of things for long periods.
Wanderers continued to create chances but had to play out the last six minutes down to 10 men after captain Shaun Dootson was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Team: Price, Errington, Moran, Dootson, Hunt, Livesey, Shakes (sub Lyons), Eckersley, Bird (sub Byrne), Taylor, Hamlin.
