CORONATION Street actor Chris Bisson dropped off some pre-Christmas cheer when he called in at Bolton's YMCA.
The actor, who plays cab driver Vikram in the long-running soap, took a break from filming to inspect the new kitchens.
And he even rustled up a quick breakfast.
Just a few months ago, the YMCA was in danger of losing its cooking facilities which would have meant youngsters missing out on Christmas dinner.
But local businesses grouped together to make-over the kitchens at next to no cost. Bisson -- also a star of hit British film East is East -- was asked to officially unveil them.
A spokesman for the YMCA said: "It was a special treat for the youngsters and Chris was brilliant."
Bethells Building Services, Warburtons Associates and Richmond Co were persuaded to take part by the Irwell Valley Housing Association.
Its chief executive Tom Manian said: "We wouldn't allow the YMCA to be without cooking facilities because they are essential for the group's training and education programmes."
