A MOTHER who has battled depression was treated to a luxury dinner party cooked by a renowned chef.
Liz Blackledge, was over the moon to win the raffle run by Asda at Middlebrook, for chef Noel Goulding to visit her home in Oldstead Grove, Deane, and prepare a three-course meal for six people. Mrs Blackledge immediately thought of treating her husband David, her sisters -- Anthea Williamson, aged 43, and 41-year-old Janice Griffiths -- and their husbands, to the meal as they offered her so much support when she faced a tough time after losing her job.
The 47-year-old accounts clerk is looking forward to finding a new job when she is fully recovered.
Mrs Blackledge, who has an 18-year-old son, was thrilled to tuck into a smoked salmon and prawn starter accompanied by melon, followed by a surprise dish called "Horwich chicken", topped off with strawberries cooked in brandy and all washed down with champagne and fine wine.
She only had to worry about what outfit to wear as Noel arrived armed with crockery, place settings and a butler.
And he even did the washing-up afterwards!
Mrs Blackledge said: "This is just the tonic I need. It has really cheered me up. The meal was wonderful. It was 100 times better than we could have ever imagined it would be.
"Both the chef and butler made it such a fun evening for us. I just want them to come back again soon!"
