CHORLEY Police are warning horse riders to look after their tack after a series of thefts.
Officers have been called to a number of incidents where thieves have targeted storerooms at equestrian centres, riding schools and farms.
Crime prevention officer PC John Marriott said: "We have noticed a significant rise recently in this type of crime with people reporting stolen tack.
"There have also been a number of break-ins and attempts at saddleries and shops in the area."
PC Marriott recommended that owners ensure their equipment is properly security marked and kept secure when not in use.
