BURY Council's former chief executive, Dennis Taylor, has been appointed a director of the Mawdsley Consultancy, an executive search and selection company.
Mr Taylor, aged 53, who lives in Bury, is also a retained consultant to the Government's Waste and Resource Action Programme and has formed a public sector and environmental consultancy -- Deta Associates Ltd.
Mr Taylor recently retired from the top job in Bury Council after 35 years in local government.
He began his career in his native North-east and saw service in the fields of environmental health, transport and wastes management with Sunderland, Gateshead and Middlesbrough councils before joining Manchester City Council in 1986 as Director of Operational Services. He moved to Bury in 1989.
