FIVE of Leigh Centurions' new recruits will make their full debuts when the NFP season kicks off on Sunday.
Jon Roper, Paul Rowley, Chris Irwin, Andy Isherwood and Gareth Price are all in the 17-man squad for the opener against Barrow.
Roper and Rowley start in their accustomed positions of centre and hooker respectively while Wigan recruit Irwin gets a wing spot after impressing in the trial against Oldham. Forwards Isherwood and Price are on the bench.
John Hamilton and Simon Svabic have not been considered because of injury. Hooker Hamilton damaged a rib cartilage against Oldham while Svabic is still a couple of weeks away from a return as he recovers from knee surgery. Kieron Purtill who missed most of last season with a serious shoulder injury, gets Svabic's number six shirt.
Leigh's line-up is: Turley; Irwin, Anderson, Roper, Bretherton; Purtill, Swann; Whittle, Rowley, Bradbury, Baldwin, Morley, Bristow. Subs: Ingram, Kendrick, Isherwood, Price.
John Duffy, released by Leigh after failing to agree a new contract at Hilton Park, has joined Tim Street, Martin Roden, Michael Watts and Saf Patel at Chorley.
