Division One leaders Nomads A almost came unstuck at Third Division Hilton E who received 10 points, but, with the Hilton team leading 3-2, Nomads won the next three sets which clinched their 5-4 win in a very close match. Brian Young scored a treble which included the final set to give Third Division Little Lever D their 5-4 win on their visit to Heaton G, and Meadow Hill B from Division Four utilised their eight points' start to good effect in their 5-1 win over Halliwell Meths. Ian Lansdale trebled for Second Division Little Lever C who beat Ladybridge A 6-3, and BEN A, also from the Second Division, proved too strong for Fifth Division Jubilee B winning 7-2, trebles here by Mike Audsley and Rod Hall. Wingates A scored a 7-2 win against fellow First Division Little Lever B who only fielded two players.
