SITTING at the very top of the Christmas Snow Slide it was easy to imagine I was bang in the middle of an Alpine scene.
The white slope in front of me, the snow capped fir trees and the authentic looking log cabin gave what would have been just another drizzly day in Bolton a truly Christmas atmosphere.
It did not look too high, which I was quite relieved about, but after I had positioned myself in a tube and been given a hefty push, I quickly picked up speed.
My stomach fluttered as I plunged down the slope and I felt a surge of adrenaline. For a few moments I really could have been sliding down a snow laden mountain in the Alps, but my day dream came to an abrupt halt as I landed on the matting below.
I had to admit it had been good fun and I was more than ready for another go.
I would describe a trip down the slide as an exhilarating experience and one that really puts you in the mood for the festive season. BEN Special Edition School's OutMonday, December 10, 2001 9 BEN Special Edition School's OutMonday, December 10, 2001
