WANDERERS have dismissed with contempt the waves of speculation linking Jussi Jaaskelainen with a big money move to Manchester United.
The Reebok keeper, who added to his fast growing reputation with a world class save in last night's 3-2 defeat at Spurs, has been the subject of rumour and reports claiming he is on the brink of a big money transfer but Sam Allardyce insists there is "not even a drop of truth" in the claims.
Speculation started last Friday that Sir Alex Ferguson had moved for the Finland international as a replacement for his blundering keeper Fabien Barthez. The rumour spread quickly through the town and was fuelled when one Sunday tabloid newspaper suggested a £5.5 million deal was on the cards.
Another claimed Allardyce was continuing to look for goalkeeping reinforcements with a view to selling Jaaskelainen for big money to ease the club's massive debt burden.
